Newsletter - December 2008 AFTEC Introduces More Innovative Forming SystemsAFTEC keeping in pace of leading the precast fence wall industry with innovation, has launched two additional new StoneTree Combination Fence Wall Systems, Models ST 315-6 & ST 415-6. The new systems are capable of producing Combo-Cast wall panels 3 feet (1 meter) and 4 feet (1.3 meter) tall with an integrated column, 3, 6 or 8ft. (1,1.8 or 2.4 m) high along with incorporating all the efficiency and advantages of the popular ST 615-6 and ST 815-6 systems.
The new forming systems provide the perfect decorative fence wall and when combined with wrought iron or aluminum fencing between full height columns, the open look of the textured wall and decorative railing is astonishing. Low walls without the higher columns can also be produced for entry ways and those conditions where local codes require line of sight such as driveways, street corners and frontages.

From Traditional to Precast Masonry A Journey with Vision Seminole Masonry, located in Northeast Seminole County in the City of Oviedo , was started by Jamie Hodges in 1998 with a $20 thousand dollar investment and eight employees. Jamie wanted to address the need for a high quality service orientated masonry supply and installation company. In the first year of operation, Seminole grossed $2.5 million and doubled that in the second year. At the height of the building boom, Seminole employed 150 to 170 employees with an annual volume of $25 million. Seminole has not only contributed to Jamie's success, but also to the growth of this small town in Central Florida. Seminole Masonry is now one of the largest masonry companies in Florida, having worked with most of the major builders in Florida on large master planned community projects including retaining walls, perimeter walls, sign walls, lighting, fountains, signage, trellises, clubhouses and amenities centers.

This year, Jamie made the decision to further expand his operations by starting a new company, Seminole Walls, incorporating the StoneTree Concrete Fence Wall System into yet another successful business in his portfolio of operations. Seminole started with a StoneTree model ST 815-6 Forming System with two textured designs; the stacked stone and new split face block. Shortly thereafter, a StoneTree ST 615-6 Forming System was added to help increase demand and expand opportunity. Recently, when informed of the StoneTree ST 315-6 Combination Forming System, Jamie immediately ordered the first system produced to be ahead of the game with the innovative technology. One of Jamie's many talents is his insight of marketing products. The following experience with a home owner's association is an example of how Jamie's Innovative Marketing Techniques turned a discussion into a sale. The association needed to replace approximately 3,000 lineal feet of fence. An association meeting was called and Seminole Walls surprised the members by unexpectedly inviting them to meet outside to see a sample of the StoneTree product setup on a trailer. They were so impressed with Seminole's innovative action and high standard of quality, that when it came time to vote for approval, the StoneTree System received an overwhelming vote of approval 29 to 1. This year, Seminole has already installed over 6,000 lineal feet of wall and presently have 9,000 lineal feet of projects pending. With Jamie's vision and drive, Seminole Walls is experiencing an unprecedented first year success, in spite of the slow economy.
